During my sophomore year of college, I decided I was going to be the commencement speaker at graduation. I started writing my speech then and there and continued to refine it over the next two years. On May 12, 2013 I gave the speech.

In November 2014, I decided I was going to become a software engineer. I wrote “February” on a sticky note and kept it on my desk. In February 2015 I quite my job. I got my first job as a web developer in June, 2015.

In October 2024, at the recommendation of a coach, I sat down and wrote a letter to myself from October 2029. The letter detailed every area of my life in extreme detail - my friend group, my job, my income, my hobbies, how I felt. I accomplished almost everything in that letter in less than 6 months.

Be not afraid. God rewards a full send.

Evidence:

Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.

— Terence McKenna

The world is a very malleable place. If you know what you want, and you go for it with maximum energy and drive and passion, the world will often reconfigure itself around you much more quickly and easily than you would think.
